Javan Billarreal, A.K.A. The kimono Cowboy, is a historian by trade but a fashion enthusiast specializing in the art of Kimono dressing. Born and raise in Texas, Javan has always had an affinity for the beauty and culture of Japan having received a certification as a mid level Kimono stylist though the Yamano Beauty and Kimono School at its New York City Location.

Javan has spent countless hours studying and practicing the art of kimono dressing, known in Japanese as Kitsuke.

He also loves Okinawa and spent two years practicing traditional Okinawan dance with Miyagi Ryu Nosho-Kai. Especially the unique and rich textile history of the Island.

Our mission is to bring Japanese culture, history, and Kimono dressing to Texas and beyond.

The Kimono Cowboy is the answer to all your kimono needs: From live demonstrations on how to dress and wear kimono, to Fashion shows, to lectures on Kimono history and general Japanese textile expertise.
